Renana Raz Born in 1978, Raz began her dance studies at Miryam Koffman’s studio, and is a Thelma Yellin High School graduate. She danced in Ido Tadmor’s Company and worked with choreographer Noa Dar. In 1999 she began creating independently. Her pieces have been performed in Japan, Brazil, Germany, Poland, USA, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Denmark and Cameroon. She has received grants from the Yehoshua Rabinowitz Foundation, the Paid National Lottery, BI-ARTS, the Buchman Heiman Foundation and Teva. Raz has created choreographies for Habima Theatre, the Cameri Theatre of Tel Aviv and the Kahn Theatre. She won the Minister of Culture and Sport’s Award for Young Artists in 2002, 2003 and 2006, as well as the choreography award at the Annual Theatre Awards of 2004, for Osher, written and directed by Miki Gurevitz. She is also the Rosenblum Award winner for 2006. Raz was chosen by Schusterman Family Foundation to be a guest artist at UTD in Dallas, Texas, and stayed in the States for three months as part of this framework.
