Partner at Cardumen Capital

Roy has over 10 years experience in technology, law and venture capital and is a partner with Cardumen Capital, an Israel-Spain VC. Roy is also the Chairman of the YVCF (Young Venture Capital Forum), an organization that groups all of Israel’s sub-40 year old venture capitalists and strives to professionalize and improve the skills of the VC community.

During his military service Roy served in a combative position in the Israeli Air Force Special Forces (unit 669) followed by a highly classified research position in The Technological Unit of the Intelligence Corps mainly focusing on cyber security. Roy later joined Yigal Arnon & Co. (a leading Israeli law firm) where he led agreement proceedings and negotiations and conducted legal due diligence. This was followed by an operational position in the New York office for an electronics engineering business executing military applications projects, mostly under Foreign Military Financed (FMF) contracts. Roy then joined lool ventures, an Israeli venture capital firm with $35M under management, focusing on early stage investments in the ICT markets. Following his position with lool ventures Roy joined Samsung Ventures as an Associate. During his time with Samsung Roy played a key part in multiple deals, including AudioBurst, Celeno, StoreDot, EarlySense, Corephotonics, Imagry, Celeno, Elastifile and Replay Technologies (acquired by Intel) and ScyllaDB (in which he was a Board Observer).

Roy was educated at the Gimnasya Realit High School of Rishon LeZion, and majored in Information Technologies (math, physics and computer science) where he graduated cum laude. He also completed both his LL.B (Law) and B.A (Business Administration) degrees at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) of Herzliya cum laude where he specialized in Information Technologies. He is a member of the Israeli Bar Association.
